The New Jersey Folk Festival is held on the sprawling grounds of the Eagleton Institute, corner of George Street and Ryders Lane, on the Douglass campus of Rutgers, the State University, in New Brunswick. Parking is available for Free at the Douglass Parking Deck as well as on the other campuses of the University. The City of New Brunswick also has many paid parking areas from which it is a five-minute campus or local bus ride across town via George Street or an approximate 15-minute walk from downtown. In addition, New Brunswick is serviced by rail via New Jersey Transit as well as by bus via Suburban Transit, both of which have stops downtown near George Street.

Traffic will be heavier than usual.

Parking is available on the Douglass Campus as well as the other campuses of the University. Shuttle service will be available. The City of New Brunswick also has many paid parking areas from which it is a five-minute campus or local bus ride across town via George Street or an approximate 15-minute walk from downtown. In addition, New Brunswick is serviced by rail via New Jersey Transit as well as by bus via Suburban Transit, both of which have stops downtown near George Street.

From Route 18 South: Follow Route 18 South until Commercial Avenue. Make a right on to Commercial Avenue to the second light, George Street. Make a left on to George Street; follow George Street to the first light, Nichol Avenue, and make a right on to Nichol Avenue. Make your first left on to Lipman Drive. Once on Lipman, take your first left to the Douglass Parking Deck.

From Route 18 North: Take Route 18 North through one light (Paulus Blvd) stay right for local traffic. At the first light make a left onto George Street (left) exit ramp after Paulus Blvd. Go through one light at the circle stay right at the second light make a left onto Nichol Avenue. Make your first left on to Lipman Drive. Once on Lipman, take your first left to the Douglass Parking Deck.

From NJ Turnpike (North or South): Take the Turnpike to Exit 9 (New Brunswick/Rutgers). Follow the signs for Route 18 North/New Brunswick. Follow Directions for From Route 18 North above.

From The Garden State Parkway (North or South): From the Parkway take Exit 129 (NJ Turnpike South). Follow NJ Turnpike Directions above.

From the North: Route 287 S: To Exit 9 (River Road/Rt. 514-Bound Brook-Highland Park). At the end of the exit ramp bear right and take River Road going toward Highland Park. Follow River Road through five lights, approximately 3 miles. At the sixth light, River Road intersects with Route 18. Make a right on to Route 18 South. Follow Directions for Route 18 South above.

From the South: Route 287 N: To Exit 9 (River Road/Rt. 514-Bound Brook-Highland Park). At the light at the end of the exit ramp turn left onto River Road going toward Highland Park. Follow River Road through six lights, approximately 3 miles. At the seventh light, River Road intersects with Route 18. Make a right on to Route 18 South. Follow Directions from Route 18 South above.

From Route 1 (North or South): Take Route 1 to Route 18 North. Follow Directions for Route 18 North above. (We recommend that to avoid traffic delays, do not take College Farm Road or Ryders Lane exits off Rt. 1 to get to the Douglass Parking Deck).
